Quail egg in robins nest with other robin eggs?

Question

Our neighbors found a robins nest with 2 little robins eggs in them today. They though it was cool. And they left it alone.
Then, they found a little Quails egg, with no nest around, just sitting there.
They decided to put it in with the robins eggs.
It has now been a week and a half since that happened and, what do ya know...The quail chick actually hatched! but, the momma robin tries to feed it, but, as most ppl know, quail chicks are born with feathers and they will feed themselves. The quail chick wont let the momma robin feed him/her, and is now starving to death.
The other two robins that were eggs hatched a few days ago btw. and are eating fine.
But, I am just afraid that the poor little quail, who patiently, surprisingly doesn't jump out of the nest that is about 15 maybe 17 ft of the ground.
What do you think will happen?

The quail needs to be taken to a wildlife rehab...if they were able to reach the nest to put the egg in I am assuming they can reach it to take the chick out. This is exactly why it is illegal to mess with wild birds nests..your neighbors have created this problem and now the quail may be in danger or dying. Look here for a local rehab:

It will most likely starve. If you can try to help it get to the ground.

But watch it for a little bit longer and if it still doesn't eat do what i said earlier, but if it does jump on its own or start feeding from the robin mother then leave it be.
