20 x 18 x 32 using 3/4 inch wood. But I am basing these dimesnisons on the large macaws if you are breeding mini macaws or the smaller macaws then this would not be the proper size. You may want to be more specific on the size of macaws.

As mentioned above, what type of macaw?

My Blue/Gold Macaw do fine in a 48x48x24 boot box (L-Shaped box 4' high). It sounds huge, but they need room to turn around in it without destroying their tail. When both are in there, it's just the right size.

Due to the size, and the 3/4" plywood, it's pretty heavy. So it will take some reinforcement. I mounted mine on caster wheels so I can move it around while I cleaned my avairy.

I also had some breeders say they like to use a large plastic 50gal drum. I never tried it, but if it works for them there isn't anything wrong with the idea. It's would be much cheaper then my 4' box.

Contact me if you need more info...I can try to hack up some blueprints.
