Hello,
I am a volunteer with 911 Parrot Alert, an international group dedicated to reuniting lost companion birds with their people. Your 'LOST' ad has been cross-posted to our 911 Parrot Alert lost and found bird database. We have over 70,000 listings for lost and found birds, organized by location, type and date. This is a free service provided by volunteers with a passion for parrots.
Please understand, the more you do right now the better chances of getting your bird back. If people know your bird is missed and loved they may feel compelled to return your bird if they have found it.

If you have a picture of your bird, you can request to have it posted as a picture LOST ad for free and it will be linked to your written info. We never post pictures of LOST birds without a specific request from the owner. Also, if your bird is banded, you can have the band number held in a confidential database that only a few
volunteers have access to. We never post band numbers, only use them to make a positive match when a FOUND bird has a band. All these steps help us to be more effective assistants in your bird search. Many times pictures and band numbers, along with reliable contact information (beyond a Craigslist email) help us reunite lost birds
and their owners, even after long periods of time.
Please complete the Lost Bird form at the bottom of this email and return it to me or use the form on the www.911parrotalert.com web site. With this information we can help watch for 'found bird' ads that come into your area.

Our site includes a list of resources, where you can search for matching ‘found’ birds in your area, or post a ‘lost’ ad for your bird. Also included is a list of tips for finding your lost parrot.

Please feel free to visit our site & sign up for the 'yahoo group' to search our database for possible 'found' matches. Lost and found birds are added day and night. Members receive email notifications several times a day of all birds lost & found each day. Make sure to choose "daily digest" when you sign up. This is a free service.

Don't give up, birds are often reunited after several weeks, even months. As you probably already know, a bird can fly up to 50 miles a day and/or be transported by car. We just found a Cockatiel that was more then 50 miles from home that was lost for 2 months, a Quaker parrot lost for 7 months 40 miles from home, an African Grey lost for 8 months found 2000 miles from home (transported by car). Wishing you the best of luck! Please let us know if we may be of assistance, and please also share the good news when the bird has been reunited.

"We have created a number of Lost Bird Flyers featuring pictures of various different kinds of birds.
Feel free to download and use them and to change them as you wish. Good Bird Inc recommends that you
download and print flyers in advance and keep them handy, along with tape and a stapler. This will save precious
time if your bird is ever lost." Good Bird.Inc

Same answer I gave for this question b4

"This post does seem a bit clumsy but possibly the "poster" is just trying to let users of YA Birds know about their organization. Prob shouldn't have done a copy/paste the way they did. There apparently are places that try to help reunite lost birds w their owners and there is a short list on the site below.

Anyone asking for help over the internet thru sites like this needs to use common sense in dealing with people who claim they can help you."

Need to feed bird food. Is is a parrot. If so then parrot seed. If a small bird like parakeet then parakeet seed. All available at pet stores and most grocery stores. Water in a dish. You can get dishes at pet stores for cheap. Put in a cage if have one. Big enough where bird can spread his wings without hitting against bars. And bar spacing small enough so bird cant fit head through them. Give him some bird toys that get at pet stores. Wood ones are good. Keep in a quite place as he is new to your home. Then once he is comfy put up posters, call local pet stores to see if someone reported him lost, and call vets also in area to see if someone reported lost. I would look on web to determine what type of bird it is. make sure you do not over heat any teflon pans or use any aerosols around him or air fresheners as this can kill him. he can have carrots, apples, grapes cut up also. No avocado or chocolate or caffeine. Good luck on finding his owners or with your new pet if no one claims him. Can even go door to door and ask people. Most birds are dearly missed and get away by accident.

This could also be a scam.

"We have found your bird send us transport costs and we will return it"
