I have prepared a female canary and a male zebra finch for breeding. It would be amazing to see what the offspring would look like and what his songs will be like.

Is it possible for me to breed them ? Canaries are also finches, right?

I have never heard of X breeding Canary with Zebra finches, it does not mean that it can not be done.

I have bred Canaries X with Goldfinches Bullfinches Green finches and Linnets, these are not fertile X's but are called Mules.

X breeding only occurs in captivity and never in the wild as a bird will always choose it's own species in the wild.

There are a number of sites such as "breeding canary hybrids"which may have some information, but I have never heard of a Canary and a Zebra finch being X.

Canaries can hybridize with some sorts of finches yet zebra finches on the on the spot at the on the spot are not considered one among them (those they'd hybridize with are goldfinches and bull finches) . No it really is no longer accessible for them to effectively reproduced. Zebras can hybridize with truly some diverse species of finches yet again no longer canaries.

Canaries can hybridize with some types of finches but zebra finches are not one of them (those they can hybridize with are goldfinches and bull finches) . No it is not possible for them to successfully reproduced.

Zebras can hybridize with several other species of finches but again not canaries.

Nope. If it was a same species of bird then i am pretty sure it would be possible. But if the female does lay eggs, they would be infertile.

I am sad to say that canaries can only breed with there own kind, but i think that Zebra's can breed with other types of finches- e.g. owls.

Good luck!:)

While the female Canary might produce eggs, they will be infertile. Sorry, Canaries are not finches.

You cannot mix breed them.

They may, or they may not. I did see a cross of 2 different birds in the wild (Goldfinch x Meadow Lark) once. Was kinda cool - size of the Goldfinch but had the black V of the Lark!
