I have run out of the wet/dry mix I give my lori & am unable to get to the shop until tomorrow.
So far I have given her half an apple, half a slice of wholemeal bread & half an orange.
What else could I give her. She doesnt like bananas.
What about porridge with some honey?
Thanks

They absolutely love corn cobs if you have any of those handy :-) Just about any type of fruit will tide her over- she is not going to come to any harm being without mix for even a few days.

My rainbows will eat some seeds so I always have budgie or small parrot mix on hand for them.

You could try her on some porridge - but make it only with water and leave out the honey.

Don't beat yourself up too much about running out of food. You are only human and it is really not going to hurt her!

Good luck

I have an Iris Lorikeet ("Jori") and I give her apples, grapes, pear, oranges, tangelos, cantelope, strawberries, peaches, and kiwi. She also doesn't really like banana, but she eats them sometimes. She loves just about any fruit, but I also add a few veggies to her fruit mix every evening (a few peas, kernels of corn, and carrots from a mixed veggie blend I give my other birds)... she eats them and they have lots of vitamins. So, if you have some frozen peas/corn or mixed veggies... give her that along with some fruit and she should be fine until you get to the store tomorrow.

Don't give her honey! It could be fine, but it could also harm her... you just never know! I have read many mixed reports about honey and it can cause an allergic reaction.... so I would stay clear of the honey!!
