At most places a budgie will cost you around $20. But don't forget, you must have a cage that is large enough (they need plenty of room), and that can cost around $50, maybe more, and you will need toys, and food. So figure around $100 to $120....

Parakeet or budgie? I saw the budgies where I live (at Petco, I believe) going for around $30 (though in MOST stores I have seen them going for around $15-$20) and the parakeets for $400.00!!! Budgies can be pretty noisy but their tone isn't really deafening, not like some of the other birds I've heard =).

Good luck!

By the way, I am not sure if they still have them in pet stores (at least I haven't seen any in a while,) but they used to have starter kits for specific birds. For a budgie, I believe the kit was between $80-$100. When I was a kid my mom let me get a budgie and we just got a starter kit, which included: the cage; food; lining; a few toys; calcium drops; and a few other items I cannot recall at this time =).

The budgies(the real name of a parakeet) at my petsmart cost around 20$. However, you should really check www.petfinder.com first. There are hundreds of budgies that need homes there, and they're usually already trained and are cheaper than the ones you would get at petsmart. Some even come with a cage and food! Good luck!

i worked at both places in the past, petsmart takes better care and have less returns for sickness. their birds are also more socalized than petco.... i would go with petsmart. if you get one, get its wings clipped and work on socalizing it as much as possible. a good way to do that is to put him in a small area like a bathroom or something and sit on the ground and let him walk on your fingers (close to the ground). its called laddering.... you put one finger infront of his feet and when he jumps on, put the other finger infront of your first finger, and just keep going. it gets them comfortable to being handled it takes time but eventually you will be able to keep him on your shoulder if you have a male/female preference, look at their "cere" its a spot right above their beak where their nostrils are, the males will have a blue coloring.... the females will have a tan or brown "cere". it will also be useful when naming so you dont end up with a male named lucy or a female named mr. chirps or something lol u get the idea :) P.S. petsmart birds will typically be healthier because most petsmarts have a vet onsite called banfield.... since they have a vet that they own, its cheaper to take a bird in as opposed to paying full price like petco must do

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://biturl.im/aUArK

The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don't achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren't putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.

The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.

Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

I can't advise you on how much they are at those pet stores because I live in the UK and we don't have them here.

Parakeets/budgerigars can be sort of loud, but not as loud as other birds such as lorikeets. If you get a young budgie, you may find that for the first few weeks he will make a high pitched 'screeching' noise - as this is how they call their parents. They'll grow out of that though.

When you get your budgerigar, remember that he or she is going to be very scared at first (what with leaving its friends and seeing a bunch of strangers), so make sure you help it settle in. Don't make any sudden noises, and avoid getting loads of people to crowd around the cage. Talk to him or her frequently, so that it can get used to your voice. After a month you can then start thinking about training your bird.

In terms of housing, make sure you get a cage big enough for your parakeet. Ask the people at the pet store for advice about this.

anywhere from $20.00 to $30.00 and alot more if you are also buying supplies and a cage. Find a breeder in your area and go get one of theirs who usually will supply a cage and you will get a better bird alot cheaper too. Even the flea markets sell parakeets for $5.00 per bird here in texas.

they can be loud at times but they arent loud for long periods of time like larger parrots are.
