Ever since we moved here to Texas five years ago, there has been a hawk flying around eating the chickens cats and dogs at my house. Today when I got home I caught the hawk trying to take my little bro's chihuahua, leaving her badly wounded. I put the hawk in a cage and took it inside so neighbors won't see and call animal control or any of that sh*t since I have very nosy neighbors that don't like me much. I just want to know what to feed it just enough time to find out what to do with it. I don't wan to kill it but will If I have to. I do not want any stupid pansy as* answers telling me it is illegal to have a wild animal or to let it go because I WILL NOT let it go so that it can kill more of my animals. I would rather kill it that let it go free.

Thnx in advanced :)

Well... Hawks eat raw meat, so try feeding it small slices of raw meet, - however, if you release it, there's a high chance that it will return, to prevent further attacks perhaps you should build an outer cage for your animals, secure them in that way?

You can always try releasing it very far away, but as said, it might return.

First off...

Call animal control. Immediantly. Or take the bird FAR away from your home and release it. Immediantly.

Second...

A wild hawk will shred your skin and muscles without a thought. DO NOT KEEP IT.

Third to answer your question..

Buy a rabbit or a rat. Kill it. Feed it to the hawk. Its been out there for years feeding its children.

You should have been responsible enough to keep your chickens, cats and dogs protected if you knew there was a predator around.

You are acting like the typical a**hole that the laws were made for. How dare you make those statements. You live in the hawks environment and it deserves to be there before you. Pen your animals with a mesh netting over the top. Other farmers have to fence in or otherwise protect there stock and you are no different. Oh, to answer the question, feed it some raw meat before you release it.

I agree with Charles you ignorant, selfish, irresponsible A**hole. I WILL tell you that you are breaking the law and are an irresponsible pet owner for not keeping your animals safe. STOPPING NATURE is not your job and it will not solve your problem, nor should you be trying to do it by capturing wild animals that are an important part of the ecosystem and BELONG in nature. People like you should not even own animals as you are obviously clueless! I hope Fish and Wildlife does find out because you will be fined and hopefully also sent to jail.

This is a horrible thing to do to a wild animal. It has to eat to survive and if it sees your animals as an easy target it will go for them. It's not doing it to piss you off to to hurt your animals, it's just hungry.

I don't care if you think it's 'pansy' to say it's against the law to keep a wild animal. It IS against the law and you should probably find a wild life center to take it to. They will have the proper environment to keep it in and know a lot more about taking care of it.

It's cruel to kill it just because you don't want it in your area. Take it to your closest wild life center. They'll know what to do!

Child, you are making a bad move. Twas' will pay for your bad deed, though. Twas' hawks are wild animals, born to fly free. Please. relocate the poor beast to a new location. Killing will not solve your problems, but will make your problems worse.
