I live in North Western Indiana, Portage, and am looking for hand-fed/ hand-raised parakeets?

Also, what is the general price difference between a regular store-bred parakeet verses a tamed one?

I've had places try and tell me they were hand-raised but, -you can tell- they weren't.

Thanks :D

I also live in the Chicagoland area and I can direct you to people who may know some good breeders in the area. The Northwest IN Bird Association is located in Demotte, and they help people adopt pet birds and other exotic animals, as well as rescue them. They may know of some good, reliable breeders in the area. Either give them a call or email them.

That's partially true. It does not depend where you get the bird to determine its niceness because pet smart also hand raises their birds. It mostly depends on breed and personality more than where you got it. A parrot such as a conure are more expensive but are also smarter and are prettier. I have two cockatiels and they are sweet but don't talk or do tricks.Petsmart birds are ridiculously expensive i bought my two cockatiels for a little over $50 but last time i checked they cost $100 or so dollars. Generally the Patsmart ones are more comfortable around more people but can also be afraid I live near of people trying to grab them. I live around Memphis and every two months theres a bird fair that all a lot of Pet shops from a 300 mile radius and sell toys cages and birds at RIDICULOUSLY LOW prices. I got a $1000 cage for about $150. There's bird fairs all over ande sure to be one in Seattle or Tacoma. If you can't wait for that just look up private pet shops around Spokane or look in the phonebook.
