The grey (normal) Cockatiel are the cheapest costing about $30. Lutino, Albino, Pearl, etc will cost up to $100 because they look nice. In my opinion, grey looks pretty cool. Caring tips:

Diet

Cockatiel will need pellets, fresh food (eg. vegetable, fruit) and cooked grain. Seed and nuts are great as treats but not as daily food.

Training

When training one, use millet spray as treats. Cockatiel are great at performing them.

Cage

25" wide x 25" long x 40" high is usually recommended. The bigger the better.

Attension

Cockatiel love attension and would love to come out of his cage! 30 minutes is great, but again, the more the better.

There's the natural grey coloration of cockatiel, which is very common. They go for around 30 dollars from private breeders (usually 50 to 60 from a petshop).

Cockatiels come in a variety of color mutations, and they'll be priced based on the rarity of the mutation. For example, Pied varieties (Grey with big blotches of white and yellow) are not as common as pearls (dotted), so they'll be more expensive.

It depends on where you are...People think all cockatiels come in one color that color combination being the distinct yellow face and orange cheek spots. Common grey cockatiel $100 cinnamon cockatiel $100 fallow cockatiel ? Lutino cockatiel $60 and lutino white faced cockateil $60 to $250 pearl cockateil and pied cockateil $120 male are most likely to talk and sing and you want to buy a chick cockateil from a breeder I got one from the pet store he was not friendly...good luck
